Welcome to the Art........
I've been doing all things based around the arts now on and off mostly on for many years, since I was a toddler almost. I remember sometimes kids would give me sweets to do stuff for them to take home for their mums, and pretend they'd done it. For my first fourteen years on the planet I was convinced I was going to be a commercial artist and end up working for Disney. Sadly it wasn't to be, I lost my Dad and Nan at 14 and my life was a rollercoaster until my 20s. I'd always kept my hand in and did lots of paid work but after my daughter was born, I went back to college.
I've owned and ran two moderately successful businesses, one a co-operative, the other an art gallery, both community based. It's never been about the money but the love of art. Through this I gained some very good commissions and some really good friends. The picture above is called venus on vacation. It's currently located in Market Street, Birkenhead, on the corner of a building in Henry Street and you can also see it on Google Earth apparently. It's been there for 14 years now, and still looks okay. There is more information about this later on, in more murals. I hope you give my site a chance as I need to add lots more pictures to it. If you have a look at my pages you will see some of my older work, as I've done so much I lost the will to document it by photographing before the blessed digital cameras came along. Life has a way of running away especially when you get older so I update when I can. Sad thing is a lot of my work just isn't documented, as I've taught a lot too, and I just didn't have the time as a busy working mum. Most of the images on here are scanned in from an old camera so please consider this when regarding the quality.
.... and the Stuff is more art, sculpture and so on, and there's still a little bit of I.T at the end.
What a strange combination I hear you say. Well not really all IT is art, from coding to copying, the amazing art and creativity of the whole techno scene is amazing. I've decided to go away from mending and fixing and sorting computers and try and get my feet back into the art world. I have been known as a recognised artist but a change of name and career saw the end of that and I need to get my stuff back out there. It's been slow to start but I am getting there. I also do workshops for things such as batik etc. Check out my work and see if there is anything I can offer. My offerings to IT are simple, I analyse a problem and then I fix it. I also teach everyone how to use a computer and from the basics to switching it on, to sending emails and such other great mysteries of the modern world. But back to what my passion is now again, good old art, which takes so many forms from plastering to drawing to cooking, making cakes, gardening, knitting in fact anything creative, and remember ART IS FOR EVERYONE SO WHATEVER YOU DO ENJOY IT, BE PROUD OF IT AND DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS.
